Nordic Life Science Days is the largest Nordic partnering conference dedicated to the life science industry. This was the 9th edition of NLSDays and despite the ongoing financial and political turbulence in the world, attending this well-organized event brought a feeling of hope and joy and a realization that face-to-face meetings and interactions are very much needed.
With more than 1,500 delegates from nearly 900 companies, 32 countries were represented in Malmö, Sweden (55% of the attendees came from the five Nordic countries). The event partnering system enabled delegates to book one-on-one meetings, taking full advantage of the opportunities for collaborations the event offered.
NLSDays attendees could access educational content, innovative exhibition space that included company stands and country pavilions, B2B meeting opportunities, and informal networking time around get-togethers and receptions. Two new formats were also introduced during this year’s event, both with the goal to "talk" about life sciences in different ways.
The first new format, a Nordic Life Science Investment track, showcased 40 selected Nordic Rising Stars pitches. The start-ups were able to pitch their innovative solutions in front of an audience of investors and delegates in the main hall of the conference. A panel of judges scored each company based on the quality of the pitch, innovation, impact, and investment readiness.
The other new format, live Fireside Chats, also took place right in the middle of the exhibition area, just next to Healthware’s stand, during coffee breaks and lunches. One of these, hosted by LINK Medical, raised the issue of how innovative technologies can facilitate decentralized trials – a hot topic indeed.
Healthware's Nordics team participated with a stand where visitors had the opportunity to hear more about our service, discuss business opportunities and try the Virtual Reality (VR) experience we recently built for one of our pharma clients. Trying the VR demo resulted in many interesting discussions on how VR could be used to support health care providers, caregivers and even treat patients.
Our Managing Director Nordics & Baltics, Petteri Kolehmainen, gave a speech where he introduced Healthware and specifically our CliniScout services: a family of products for clinical trials.
CliniScout Recruit is a service that helps find recruiting subjects quickly and efficiently. After the trial starts, CliniScout ePRO can be used to collect ePRO (electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes), RWD (Real World Data), Quality-of-Life data, and more, as well as encourage better subject engagement and communication.
